“Mathematical Models of Learning in the Brain”
Claudia Clopath is an internationally renowned neuroscientist. She joined Imperial College London in 2013 where she heads up her own laboratory, the Computational Neuroscience Laboratory. Her goal: to understand the brain’s learning mechanisms and where our memories are stored.
Her work has many potential applications, such as better understanding and treating Alzheimer's disease. Since 2015, her lab has also been working with DeepMind, the Google-owned company that is exploring artificial intelligence, focusing on continual learning.
Claudia Clopath obtained her Master in Physics and her PhD in Computer Science at EPFL. She received an Alumni Award from the School in 2021 for her exceptional career and research achievements.
