Bernard PAULE is architect, graduated from the Ecole d'Architecture de Lyon. He is a specialist in natural light control and use within buildings. He is responsible of lighting and transport at ESTIA. He thus coordinates the development of the DIAL-Europe software and of the Estia-VIA method. Bernard PAULE is also lecturer at EPFL (ENAC - SAR - LCC1). He regularly gives lectures at the architecture schools of Geneva, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier and Saint-Etienne. He achieved a PhD thesis in 1999 within the Architecture Department of EPFL, entitled: "Application of fuzzy logic to decision making in natural lighting".

  • The axis Integrated Design, Architecture and Sustainability (IDEAS) is a joint initiative of both the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID) and Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) of the ENAC School at EPFL. It aims to address an increased integration of the various issues related to sustainable architecture within the framework of the Master Cycle in Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering, as well as the Doctoral program Architecture & Science of the city (EDAR).
