Using unitarity, analyticity and crossing symmetry, we derive universal sum rules for scattering amplitudes in theories invariant under an arbitrary symmetry group. For effective field theories, the amplitudes in the IR are calculable and the sum rules set positivity constraints on the parameters of the effective Lagrangian. As examples, we discuss positivity bounds for effective theories of Goldstone Bosons, and for the higher curvature corrections to Einstein-Hilbert generated by perturbative UV-completions of gravity.
