From the chaise-longue to the childhood bedroom. A talk with Marson Korbi.
Marson Korbi is an architect born in Albania in 1990, during the era of a concrete Exodus. As many of his generation — the so-called ‘transition generation’ from east-communism to Capitalism — he is an eternal-student, an eternal-dreamer, a bowiean ‘Absolute Beginner’. He concluded a PhD at the Polytechnic of Bari and has worked for studio Dogma. Now he is a scientific collaborator at EPFL. His research and design interests are a continuous attempt to escape from the disciplinary cornices of architecture, struggling against precariousness and hierarchical-life-exploitation. From 2018, together with Collective Concrete (CNCRT), he is exploring how to subvert and invent new forms of cooperation in architecture: to understand if labor could be a form of total-pleasure.
