The Digital Competitiveness Summit 2022 is co-organised by digitalswitzerland, EPFL and IMD.

Regulating the digital world: does it hinder or drive competitiveness?

Attending this event will not only give you a clear idea of Swiss digital competitiveness and its position on a global level, but also provide you with the opportunity to hear leading experts share their insights about digitalisation.

Driven by data, algorithms, hardware and platformisation – digital technologies have transformed our economic and societal landscape. In parallel, significant privacy concerns have shaken consumer business relationships, prompting changes in both regulatory interventions and personal privacy-protective behaviours. In order for companies to comply with today's regulations and frameworks, significant investment is needed, and in some cases even adaptations of business models. It also requires new technologies to use data efficiently and profitably (in an economic sense) on the one hand and ethically in regards to ownership, transparency, privacy, intention and outcome on the other. This is yet another challenge.

Are these investments of resources advantageous to competitiveness and even innovation?
