This award supports independent and early career investigators who have innovative and high impact ideas or new technologies applicable to Parkinson’s disease research and patient care. This will provide funding and experience necessary for productive career progression at the forefront of research specifically on non-motor aspects of PD.
Candidates must be independent investigators not above the level of Assistant Professor (tenure tracks) or equivalent. Candidates must never have received an R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health.
Funding is worth up to US$250,000 in direct costs over a maximum of two years, and may cover salary, research supplies, clinical research costs, travel between collaborating organizations, travel to attend meetings, data-sharing and publication costs, and equipment costs. Clinical trials are not eligible for this award.
