This week we are glad to annouce the lecture of Giuseppe Micciarelli, for the Series Commons and Multitude within Superstudio. Micciarelli will talk about the juridical and spatial practices for the institutionalization of some experiences of Commons, through interesting examples of occupations and organizations from the city of Naples. His lecture will be moderated by Massimo De Angelis. 
 

Giuseppe Micciarelli is a political philosopher and legal sociologist (University of Salerno). He is the author of essays and articles on the themes of democracy in transformation, institutional theory, global governance and social movements. 
In July 2019, he was awarded the Elinor Ostrom Award, the most prestigious award in the field of the defence and management of the commons. With his research supports numerous groups, networks, associations, and local administrations for the creation and implementation of new participatory institutions. He has been the president of the Commons, participatory democracy and fundamental rights of the city of Naples. He collaborates with several academic networks (such as the international think tank “Institute of Radical Imagination”) and institutions, as a consultant on local governance and participatory tools.
