The Elrha’s Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises Programme (R2HC) supports research projects that improve public health in humanitarian crises by strengthening the evidence base through data and evidence gathering. Proposals must aim at influencing the humanitarian policy and practice using the research findings. Secondary data collection projects will be considered. Clinical trials and the development of diagnostics are NOT funded. Proposals evaluating health system interventions in fragile states and protracted crises are encouraged.
Who can apply: applicants from all over the world, but at least 1 researcher from a research institution + 1 operational humanitarian organisation. For-profit companies or individuals can join the research team.
Funding: not specified, it can vary from £430’000 to £3.5 M.
Duration: 24 months for research + 12 months for uptake and dissemination.
Eligible costs:
- For years 1-2: personnel, travel, data collection and analysis, equipment and other research costs. 10% overheads are eligible only if alternative funding is not available.
- For year 3 (at least 10% of the overall budget): dissemination events, data visualisation, policy briefs, publication, staff working on the uptake of research funding.
