[ ETHZ | Call for young researchers' exchange with Japan ]

This instrument, set up by ETH Zurich and the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), funds the exchange of young scientists between Japan and Switzerland. The Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) commissioned ETH Zurich as the Leading House for research stays of 3-6 months at a research group in Japan.

Who can apply

  • PhD students (Master students and young postdocs in exceptional cases) from all scientific fields currently working in research groups at Swiss universities, universities of applied sciences or research institutes.
  • Host researchers must be employed full-time (excluding jokyo, assistant professor and joshu, research assistant) at an eligible institution in Japan.
 
Who can NOT apply
  • Applicants with Japanese nationality.
  • Applicants who have already been selected under JSPS’s Postdoctoral Fellowships for Foreign Researchers.
 
Funding (from JSPS) covers:
- Monthly allowance of JPY 220’000
- International air ticket
- Overseas travel insurance
 
Deadline: 20 May 2018
Decision: August 2018
Earliest start: mid-October 2018
