The aims of the European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) are to encourage and support research in the field of diabetes, to rapidly diffuse acquired knowledge and to facilitate its application.
 
EFSD/JDRF/LILLY EUROPEAN PROGRAMME IN TYPE 1 DIABETES RESEARCH
Deadline: 1 July (every year) 18:00 CET

  • Funding:
    • up to EUR 100’000 OR
    • up to EUR 400’000 for clinical research.
  • For what: research projects in the following research areas. Research with a biological counterpart or in vivo validation is preferred.
  • Duration: min. 1 year
  • Who can apply: PI and Co-PIs must be employed full-time at a non-profit institution in Europe and associated countries and the study must be performed at their place of work.

(EFSD) AND JAPAN DIABETES SOCIETY (JDS) RECIPROCAL TRAVEL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME
Deadline: 1 July (every year) 12:00 CET
  • Funding:
    • up to Euro 50’000 for applicants for the applicant from Europe OR
    • 5 million Japanese Yen for the applicant from Japan.
  • For what: hosting researchers from Japan OR for research visits to Japan.
  • Duration: max. 1  year
  • Eligible costs: salaries, travel, sustenance, consumables, equipment + 10% indirect costs.
  • Who can apply: Postdoctoral researchers (scientist or clinicians).
