The European Respiratory Society (ERS) is an international organisation that brings together physicians, healthcare professionals, scientists and other experts working in respiratory medicine.
 
The ERS Clinical Research Collaborations (CRCs) programme provides support to projects in different areas of respiratory medicine, to build and maintain European multi-centre networks of researchers, from both within and outside of the Society. This multidisciplinary approach fosters a dynamic scientific community and has the ultimate aim of advancing science and clinical research in a specific disease area, and to improve respiratory health and medicine.
 
The topic preferred by the ERS will be announced in July 2019.
 
The CRC should decide on priority clinical questions related to where there is an unmet medical need, and where there is a need to gather real world evidence / data in a multi-centre research
study involving patients.
 
Who can apply: pan-European multi-centre network of principal investigators aims to advance clinical and translational research within a specific disease area. It may also integrate non-European countries as well as non-ERS members, representing different scientific disciplines which complement the network with multispecialty, multidisciplinary and multifunctional know-how and expertise. The CRC should be governed via its own steering committee, which should be composed of ERS members and any other non-member stakeholders.
 
Funding & duration: max. EUR 45’000 for 36 months (renewable for other 36 months)
 
Deadline: 15 October (every year)
After peer reviewing, the proposals will be considered at the next meeting of the Science Council.
Decision (by the Executive Committee): end of February 2020
