The Fritz Thyssen Foundation offers financial support to defray travel expenses that are directly related to projects in the humanities, social sciences or biomedical fields, namely:
- History, Language & Culture
- The interdisciplinary field “Image–Sound–Language”
- State, Economy and Society
- Medicine and the Natural Sciences
Applications must have a clear connection to the German research system:
- German scientists working on the project and/or
- non-German scientists being affiliated to German research institutes and/or
- research topic related thematically to German research interests.
Who can apply: applicants holding a PhD and based at a university or research institute anywhere in the world.
Funding for travel costs and allowance (have a look at the daily and monthly rates for the respective country of travel). Does not cover overheads.
Rolling call: applications for travel grants may be submitted at any time. Normally a decision can be reached in 8 weeks.
