The efforts Prof. Tavassoli are directed towards understanding cellular protein-protein interaction networks, and developing molecules that tackle diseases such as Cancer and HIV by targeting these protein networks. His team has developed and is using a genetically encoded high-throughput screening platform for the identification of protein-protein interaction inhibitors.
