Every year, the Hans-Eggenberger Stiftung awards a prize to outstanding Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral thesis submitted, in German or English, by young researchers to a Swiss university, ETH or technical college and supports subsequent research.

The aim is to promote interdisciplinary thesis and research where electronics and/or electrical energy engineering play a crucial role.

Who can apply: students and researchers at the Master’s Doctoral and Postdoctoral level who have done their thesis at a Swiss university, ETH or technical college.

Funding:

  • CHF 10,000 prize for the thesis +
  • Up to CHF 100’000 (optional) as a contribution to a follow-up research, doctoral or postdoctoral project at a university in Switzerland or abroad. Research abroad must have a link to Switzerland.

Eligible costs: own salary, capital items (e.g. material of permanent value), consumables, travel, fieldwork and other research costs. Does NOT cover office equipment nor conference-related costs.

Deadline: 15 September (every year)


Application: fill out and sign the application form following these instructions, and submit it to research@epfl.ch for the institutional signature at least 7 working days prior to the deadline.
