CPI is currently involved in the design, development, and production of megawatt-class gyrotrons for fusion applications and high-frequency,  low-power gyrotrons for dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) enhanced nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.  Fusion gyrotrons currently in production  include 140GHz, 900kW cw devices for the W7-X stellarator and the EAST tokamak as well as 110GHz and 117GHz gyrotrons at power levels in excess of 1MW for the DIII-D tokamak.  The designs of the 110GHz, 140GHz, and 117GHz gyrotrons as well as the results of experimental demonstrations will be described.  CPI has also developed 50W, cw gyrotrons at 263GHz, 395GHz, and 527GHz for commercial DNP systems.  To date, 28 DNP gyrotrons are in use in 400, 600, and 800MHz NMR systems around the world.  The designs, design challenges, and experimental demonstrations of the low-power high-frequency gyrotrons will also be described.
