The design of high power semiconductor pump lasers for disk laser is described and individual manufacturing steps highlighted.
Short bio :
Dr. Georg Treusch finished his studies in physics at TH Darmstadt, Germany in 1981. He was awarded the title of PhD in physics (Dr.rer.nat.) in 1984. Georg Treusch is Founding Member of the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology, Aachen Germany in 1985, where he headed the department for laser micro machining and later for diode and solid state lasers. From January 1999 until September 2005 he acted as Senior Engineering Manager for Spectra Physics, Tucson, AZ. From October 2005 till November 2009 he took over the position of General Manager-VP of DILAS Diode Laser Inc. Tucson, AZ. Since November 2009 Georg Treusch is Managing Director of TRUMPF Photonics Inc. Cranbury, NJ and responsible for supplying more than 10MW/year of diode laser power as a pump source for disk lasers.
