First Session
• 13:00 – 13:05: Kick-off and overview of the day's agenda by Ben Gitai, HRC Coordinator
• 13:05 – 13:30: Opening remarks by Paola Vigano, HRC Director
• 13:30 – 14:15: Roundtable discussion with Elena Cogato (HRC Scientific Board Committee, LASUR-EPF), Florence Graezer Bideau (HRC Scientific Board Committee, HAT, CDH EPFL), Luca Pattaroni (LASUR-EPFL) , Paolo Perona(PL-LCH EPFL). Moderation by : Ben Gitai( HRC Coordinator)
Second Session
• 14:20 – 15:10: Group work sessions to gather valuable insights and suggestions (a detail programme will be sent next week) Moderation by: Anna Karla De Almeida (HRC executive board)
• 15:15 – 15:45: Closing remarks
• 15:45 – 16:00: Aperatif
We are reaching out to invite you to our annual Habitat Research Center (HRC) Day.
This year, the event will take place in two parts. First, we will discuss HRC’s ongoing initiatives, both within ENAC. Second, we aim to explore new opportunities for future projects, especially by fostering dialogue with several new ENAC laboratories. In addition to planning the next phase of the center, we would like to reflect on HRC’s impact and future developments, incorporating feedback from the DirENAC and the HRC survey, which gathered your valuable insights and suggestions.
The HRC Day will question methods, urban challenges, and research agendas throughout the day and identify priorities, opportunities, and possible answers for Urbanization in Transition. The goal is to debate the HRC research fields, and more broadly the role and the possible impact of research, through design, teaching, and mediation, in the transformation of territorial logics, urban rhythms, landscape qualities, environmental services or architectural culture. Within the program, a promising roundtable will gather international research centers focusing on the urban to debate their role, especially in the current context of simultaneous crises. As part of these challenges, the climate emergency immediately requires joint efforts and great imagination.
