The International Spinal Research Trust is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury.
 
The International Spinal Research Trust is pleased to announce its new “Special Emphasis Grants” Call entitled ‘Healthcare innovations that could have a significant impact on bladder, bowel and sexual function’.
The aim of the call is to support multidisciplinary, outcome-driven and high-quality clinical research/human proof-of-concept studies that develop and test innovative ways to recover bladder, bowel or sexual function after spinal cord injury.  
 
Who can apply:

  • Proven independent researchers with a demonstrable track record of internationally competitive research and a long-term position at a higher education, research or clinical establishment anywhere in the world.
  • Collaborating applicants should be able to offer suitable additional and specific experience.
  • Proposals from multidisciplinary collaborations within or between organisations are particularly encouraged. Partnerships with commercial organisations are eligible provided the commercial partner provides in-kind contributions.
 
Funding & Duration: max. £ 250’000 for 24-36 months.
  • Eligible costs: personnel costs and research-related costs (e.g. laboratory chemicals and materials, animal costs, equipment purchase and maintenance).
  • Does NOT cover overheads.
