EPFL Architecture is pleased to invite you to the Superstudio final reviews which will be held on the EPFL campus from December 14 to 17, 2021 at the Archizoom space SG 1211. You will be able to discover the projects realized by the groups of students in their last year of master.

The Superstudio course for final year Master of Architecture students is a platform for sketching out a vision of architecture that, to be effective in clarifying an idea, must be able to manifest itself in forms pushed to excess.

Superstudio explores the visionary and critical theories of Charles Fourier and Gertrude Jekyll. Superstudio students, organized into Collectives, develop and design two scenarios: Metrhotel Charles and Forum Naturae Artificialis. The first scenario takes the metropolitan hotel, with its historical spatial and social organization, to explore different forms of living together. The Forum should be conceived as a park or a garden, or a composition of buildings and collective monuments, on the scale of the city. In order to propose an alternative to the existing social order and capitalism, both scenarios take into account and reinterpret the theories of Community and Multitude.

To develop the interdisciplinary and cultural premises of the project, the course is structured around a series of lectures and discussions with renowned architects and some of the leading specialists in fields such as civil and structural engineering, technical installations, energy systems, territorial networks and sociology. Through the integration of this wealth of knowledge, students will be able to develop the theoretical and practical foundations necessary to define the cultural trajectory of architecture in the 21st century.

This course is given by the LTH3 laboratory team Roberto Gargiani, Massimo De Angelis, Silvia Groaz, Boris Hamzeian and Marson Korbi.
