Short Course in Advanced Surface Analysis in the Earth, Environmental and Life Sciences:
Laser Ablation ICP-MS, SIMS and NanoSIMS have become analytical tools of great importance in the geological and environmental sciences, and NanoSIMS sub-cellular imaging is now entering the Life Sciences. The Center for Advanced Surface Analysis (CASA) offers a 3 day- short course for PhD students, Postdocs, and other interested researchers. The goal is to familiarize potential future users with the capabilities of each of these analytical techniques. For each instrument, presentations will be given that cover scientific applications (Day 1), technical aspects of instrument functioning and analysis (Day 2), and a visit to each labs (Day 3).
The number of participants is limited to 30.
Registration and participation is free, but each attendee will cover his/her expenses for travel and lodging in the Lausanne area during the event (see our hotels recommendations below).
For PhD students only, we can cover the accommodation at the Swiss Youth hostel in Lausanne (please book a room yourself on this link as soon as possible, indicating the CASA code – 3 nights max, in 4-beds or dormitory rooms only).
