The new headquarters of the Ministry of Defence on the Balard site in Paris is designed as a natural machine. It is characterized by alternating transparent and opaque facades, buildings on stilts distributed around patios, a large faceted triangular metal roof, and a energy performance beyond the most recent regulations. The Balard project will gather the staffs (EMA, EMAT, EMM, EMAA) currently scattered across three separate sites.
