Lead Agency applications with France, Germany and Austria

For projects in collaboration with French researchers, in 2016 the SNSF is the Lead agency for these joint applications which must comply with the usual local requirements and the same rules of participation as national projects. Lead Agency applications are evaluated in the same way and at the same time as normal SNSF applications; there is no special or additional budget for Lead Agency projects. Applications must address a joint research question and contain a joint research plan. Overlap with ongoing projects should be avoided. It is recommended to contact the responsible SNSF division prior to submission. French partners should inform themselves of ANR requirements.
Applications involving German researchers can be submitted in the current form.
Applications involving Austrian researchers can also be submitted in the current form, but in the evaluation process a success rate that is yet to be determined will apply.
Trilateral applications can also be submitted in the usual form; they will be subject to the same success rate as the applications with only Austrian partners.

The final version of the full proposal must be registered on GrantsDB immediately after the deadline. Based on these documents, the Research office will prepare the “institutional declaration” and send this to the SNSF.
