Season 2
Oskari Pakari, Fast and Fourier: Introduction to frequency domain analysis of systems and signals
The Fourier transform is a powerful tool used in signal processing revealing the frequency content of a signal. The mathematical details tend to be lost on the average user, as modern algorithms take over the burden of insight. In this talk we will explore the use of Fourier transformations for system analysis and signal processing. First we will develop an intuitive understanding of the underlying mathematics and discuss the limitations. Then we apply said tools on a few everyday examples and then a simplified nuclear reactor.
