Aim: The Michael J. Fox Foundation seeks applications with potential for fundamentally altering disease course and/or significantly improving treatment of symptoms above and beyond current standards of care. Proposals must have a well-defined plan for moving toward clinical utility for patients. The Therapeutic Pipeline Program is open to industry and academic investigators proposing novel approaches or repositioning approved or clinically safe therapies from non-PD indications. The Therapeutic Pipeline Program advances Parkinson's disease therapeutic development along the pre-clinical and clinical path (both drug and non-pharmacological therapeutics, including gene therapy, biological, surgical and non-invasive approaches).
 
Therapeutic Pipeline awards support prospective studies or retrospective studies utilizing existing data in human biofluids. Full details are available in the RFA.
 
Funding:       Maximum USD $500’000 (preclinical)
                      Maximum USD $2’000’000 (clinical)
 
Duration:      2 years (pre-clinical)
                      3 years (clinical)
 
Eligibility: Researchers at all academic levels at or above Assistant Professor are eligible to apply.
 
How to Apply: The pre-proposal is the first step in the application. Pre-proposals must be completed in the online application portal.  Successful applicants will be given further instructions for submitting a full proposal.
