Walking, running, swimming and flying are behavior is a behavior of central importance to the life of an animal. We review work in building silicon neural circuits to implement periodic movement generation circuits or Central Pattern Generators (CPGS). We show work in learning locomotion, the use of vision. The talk is concluded with an overview of work done at Qualcomm on the creation of the Zeroth Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
