In collaboration with the Center for Neuroprosthetics (CNP) at EPFL, Innovation Forum Lausanne is organizing the NeuroTech Talk series. This conference series revolves around industrial applications in the fields of neuroscience and neuroprosthetics. The goal of this project is to broaden the view of researchers on what's outside academia. Beyond the science behind these applications, the seminars will focus on the personal, entrepreneurial challenges coming with the clinical translation of advances in neurotechnology. Speakers will share their career paths, the choices that brought them where they are today and their advices for PhD students and researchers seeking a future in the medical device industry.
This session taking place on Wednesday 3rd of November at 18pm CET will focus on neurotechnologies for rehabilitation.
Friedhelm Hummel, Professor and Head of Defitech Chair of Clinical Neuroengineering at EPFL, will be moderating the seminar and introducing the speakers:
- Naveed Ejaz, Director of Digital Therapies at MindMaze, mixing virtual reality, artificial intelligence and neuroscience for rehabilitation from upper-limb hemiparesis.
- Krzysztof Malej, Head of Research & Innovation at Neuro Device, combining logopaedic therapy with neuromodulation to recover from aphasia.
- Edward Schiettecatte, CEO and co-founder of TRAINM & Steven Laureys, member of its scientific board. TRAINM is a neuro rehab clinic gathering cutting-edge technology to improve rehabilitation strategies for patients.
The event will be fully online. Register now and you will receive the Zoom link the day before the event.
