In this talk I will show that a High NA confocal imaging polarimeter can measure changes in the polarisation occurring within metallic nanoparticles and magnetic nanostructures. The sharp variations in the polarisation measured were of one order of magnitude lower than the optical resolution in the system. I will also address relevant work such as vectorial beam shaping, localised surface plasmons, polarisation multiplexing in optical data storage, and particle sizing.
