The Prix Schläfli, one of the oldest science prizes in Switzerland (since 1866), is awarded by the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) to young scientists for excellent articles resulting from PhDs in the following natural sciences disciplines:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Geosciences with a focus on the theme ’A Habitable Planet’
- Pure or Applied Mathematics
Deadline: 31 October 2017
Prize: CHF 5000 and support for a conference participation in each of the scientific fields
Award ceremony: It will be held at the SCNAT General Assembly on 25 May 2018 in Bern
Eligibility criteria:
- young researchers who did their doctoral thesis at a Swiss University or Swiss nationals who did their PhD thesis abroad
- Candidates must have defended their doctoral thesis between 1 November 2014 and 31 October 2017
Nominations can be submitted by the supervisor of the candidate or by a SCNAT member society.
