The Professor Dr Max Cloëtta Foundation grants scholarships at a renowned institution to younger medical scientists during or immediately after completing their specialist training.

The scholarship is to finance a training stay at first-class, primarily foreign host institutes.

The focus is on gaining knowledge in fields which are given little space in medical studies (e. g. public health, psychosomatic and psychosocial medicine, ethics, IT, epidemiology, pharmacogenetics, forensic medicine, health communica-tion), or on deepening knowledge in special fields / techniques (e. g. specialised clinical techniques, molec-ular-biochemical methods, computational science). Pure research projects are not the aim of the programme.

Who can apply:

  • medical scientists during or immediately after completing their specialist training.
  • if they possess a Swiss citizenship or Swiss permanent residence or residence permit;
  • if they possess a Swiss citizenship or Swiss permanent residence or residence permit;
  • if their mentor confirms that they intend to accompany the scholarship holder during the scholarship period;
  • if their Swiss home institution ensures re-entry.

Funding and duration: The amount of the grant provided by ‘Clinical Medicine Plus’ is determined by the Professor Dr Max Cloëtta Foundation as a contribution to travel expenses and cost of living during the stay at the host institute (3 to max. 12 months).

Earliest start of the fellowship: 1 December 2020. Retroactive support is excluded.
