q-series with integer coefficients arise naturally in Quantum Topology, and in particular in the asymptotics and in the coefficients of the Jones polynomial of a knot and its parallel. The q-series are of Nahm type and have uknown modularity properties. We will aim for a gentle introduction with examples, theorems and conjectures.
