Cosmology studies the structure and evolution of the Universe on the largest observable scales. Even though the Universe is very macroscopic, quantum mechanics is crucial for understanding some cosmological phenomena. In this talk I will first review the present status of fundamental cosmology, focusing on such effects. Then I will review some recent work by other people on the physics of black holes that I find inspiring. Finally, I will describe one computation in progress.
