Abstract: This talk introduces recent results at the crossroads between random matrix theory and big data/machine learning. Assuming large dimensional and numerous data inputs, concentration properties arise that allow for a renewed understanding of the performances of classical machine learning schemes, such as kernel methods, spectral clustering, community detection on graphs, random neural networks, etc. It will also be shown that these studies allow for possible improvements of the methods.
