The College of Design and Engineering (CDE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is pleased to invite interested scholars and professionals to an informational presentation on faculty opportunities within the College. This session will provide an overview of CDE’s vision, academic environment, and growth areas, as well as details on faculty recruitment, expectations, and career development pathways. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the vibrant research ecosystem and the unique academic culture at NUS. We warmly welcome participants from diverse disciplines aligned with design, engineering, and technology innovation. Whether you are considering a faculty career at NUS or simply wish to learn more about opportunities at CDE, we encourage you to join us. We invite applications for faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level across all areas of Engineering and Design, with particular emphasis on AI and AI+X. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for appointments at the Associate or senior faculty levels, commensurate with experience.
 

Profile of Dean Teo:
Prof. Kie Leong Teo is the Dean of the College of Design and Engineering. He was the Deputy Dean (Academic Affairs and Education) since the formation of the College in 2022 and was Acting Dean from April 2023 to March 2024. He was the Deputy Dean (2019-2021) and Vice-Dean, Research & Technology (2011-2019) at the Faculty of Engineering at NUS. In this capacity, he oversaw the Faculty planning and performance in education, research and enterprise. He managed an average of S$150 mil annually in competitive research grants and was responsible for academic programme development as well as top talent management. A leading expert in spintronics, his research group works on the development of low-power non-volatile memory.  At the national level, he has served in the National Research Foundation and A*STAR research review committees. He has also served on many research/technical review panels, and conference organisation committees.
