Diseases that primarily affect the developing world (such as malaria and other tropical diseases) have long received comparatively little R&D investment. Hosted by Annamaria Conti(UNIL-HEC), Patrick Gaulé (University of Bath) will present new insights on why such diseases are neglected and which gaps in the drug development pipeline could be targeted by policymakers. Tom Vogl (University of California, San Diego) will discuss the implications of the findings from a development economics perspective.
