The SAMS and the Swiss National Science Foundation, with the support of private foundations and in collaboration with the Swiss School of Public Health, award each year a limited number of competitive MD-PhD scholarships. MD-PhD scholarships enable young physicians to complete a doctoral research training in natural sciences, public health sciences, clinical research or biomedical ethics at a Swiss university. Applicants should aim at becoming experts in translational medicine and at contributing to evidence-based medicine.
Duration: 2-3 years (earliest start: 1.09.2019)
Who can apply:
- Graduates in human, veterinary or dental medicine who have been admitted as doctoral students (at least 80% FTE) in the local MD-PhD program of a Swiss university.
- Residents of Switzerland for at least 2 years.
Eligible costs: salary of the grantee (CHF 55’044), including 16% social charges.
Deadline: 15 December (every year)
