| Speaker | Nathaniel JONES est l'un des principaux fondateurs de Sustain, un banc d'essai expérimental pour la simulation énergétique en cours de création à l'Université de Cornell. Il a obtenu un master en architecture à l'Université de Cornell, sous la direction de Kevin Pratt, en combinant la simulation de la consommation énergétique à des algorithmes génétiques afin d'optimiser la volumétrie et les matériaux des bâtiments. Ses travaux incluent des algorithmes pour la traduction automatique de modèles architecturaux CAD pour la simulation énergétique et le développement de méthodes destinées à simuler plus précisément les échanges de chaleur rayonnante à l'intérieur des bâtiments. |

Nathaniel JONES will be the speaker of the next IDEAS Seminar.
Entitled "Fast and Accurate Calculation of Direct Solar Radiation on Complex Building Surfaces". It will take place on Friday 23th August 2013 at 2:00 pm in IDEAS space (LE Building).The axis Integrated Design, Architecture and Sustainability (IDEAS) is a joint initiative of both the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID) and Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) of the ENAC School at EPFL. It aims to address an increased integration of the various issues related to sustainable architecture within the framework of the Master Cycle in Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering, as well as the Doctoral program Architecture & Science of the city (EDAR).

- L’axe « Design Intégré, Architecture et durabilité » (IDEAS) est une initiative commune du Laboratoire d'Architecture et Technologies Durables (LAST) et du Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Performance Intégrée au Projet (LIPID) de la faculté ENAC de l’EPFL. Il répond à l’objectif d’une intégration accrue des questions relatives à l’architecture durable au sein du cycle de Master en Architecture, Ingénierie Civile et Environnementale ainsi que de l’Ecole doctorale Architecture et sciences de la ville (EDAR).
