Abstract:
“For proper embryonic development cells communicate with each other via signalling pathways. To make this communication specific and accurate cells can use the dynamics of a signal to encode information. We use mouse somitogenesis as model system to understand how oscillatory signaling pathways control embryonic development. Combining microfluidics-based perturbation of signaling dynamics with embryo and in vitro culture systems we dissect the mechanism of how signaling dynamics function during development.”
