The talk
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations in 2015 consist of 17 global goals, including ending global poverty, reducing inequalities, improving health and education, and creating sustainable cities. How do we get there, leaving no one behind? What role can and should technology play in helping achieve the SDGs? What role can and should academic researchers play?
The speaker
Pascaline Dupas, is a development economist seeking to better understand challenges facing poor households in lower income countries. Her aim is to identify tools and policies that can help overcome these challenges and reduce global poverty. She currently serves as:
- Kleinheinz Family Professor in International Studies
- Professor of Economics
- Faculty Director, Stanford King Center on Global Development
- Senior Fellow, Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research
- Senior Fellow, Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies
