Research cooperation with Japan
The Strategic Japanese-Swiss Science and Technology Programme is aimed at researchers in Switzerland who wish to address specific research questions together with partners in Japan.
Joint Research Projects (JRPs) allow researchers in Switzerland to collaborate with a partner in Japan. The projects have a duration of three years and the SNSF will cover up to CHF 250’000.- for the Swiss partner. The project grants cover similar costs as national SNSF projects (equipment, research funds and salaries). JSPS will cover the costs incurred by the Japanese partner.
The call concerns projects in the following areas:
Applications must be submitted to the SNSF (via the mySNF platform) and to JSPS. For more detailed information, please refer to the call document.
Important: Earliest possible starting dates of the projects is 01.01.2017. The selected Japanese researchers are required to start the projects between January and March 2017.
