In this talk I will give an overview of recent advances in the study of (super)conformal defects. First, I will discuss some general aspects of the subject introducing a few physically relevant examples of defects. Then, I will focus on the case of surface defects in four-dimensional superconformal theories and introduce two complementary approaches for the exact computation of defect correlators.
