Symplectic singularities and resolutions are complex algebraic varieties with close connections to representation theory. Much work is currently being done to study these varieties and associated algebras defined over the complex numbers.
Braden-Licata-Proudfoot-Webster have observed that there appears to be a duality (symplectic duality) on the set of such varieties, which manifests itself in Koszul dualities of the associated C-algebras.
I will outline a dream for associating to symplectic singularities a different class of algebras, defined over the integers. I expect that symplectic duality will correspond to Ringel duality for these new algebras. I will discuss the case of hypertoric varieties, for which this dream is a reality (joint work with Tom Braden), and the case of nilpotent cones (joint work with Pramod Achar).
