The Tom Wahlig Foundation supports research projects on hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSPs). Topics to be covered may be clinical, genetic or functional in nature. The primary focus does not have to be HSP, but a conceptual connection to the disease should be evident.
Projects may represent self-contained small studies, or be intended to generate preliminary data that enable alternative subsequent funding for a larger follow-up study.
Funding & Duration: min. EUR 8’000, max. EUR 17’500 for max. 2 years
Who can apply:
- Physicians and biologists all over the world.
- Preference to junior scientists (PhD obtained within the last five years or MD obtained in the previous 8 years).
Deadline: 1 December (every year)
Decision: 1 February
Review: anonymous experts from the field will review the proposals and select 2-3 projects to be awarded. The final decision is made by the Foundation’s Board.
