A transit of Mercury occurs when the planet Mercury passes in from of the Sun. This will occur on Monday, May 9, 2016 which will be the first such event in 10 years with the previous having taken place in 2006. Callista, in partnership with the labortaory of astrophysics (LASTRO) and AstroDécouverte, will organize an event on campus to observe and record this transit. Several telescopes with solar filters will be deployed for the occasion. Save the date and keep an eye on our website for more information!
