Aim: The AI Security Institute (AISI) is a research organisation within the UK Government's Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). Its mission is to equip governments with an empirical understanding of the safety of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) systems.
AISI has launched the Challenge Fund to advance the science of AI safety and security by addressing open challenges in the field. Applicants should develop projects across AISI's priority research areas, which are: safeguards, control, alignment and societal resilience. The scheme aims to:
Funding: from £50,000 to £200,000 (no overheads allowed)
Duration: 4-6 months
Eligibility: Applications are open to International academic and non-profit organisations.
How to Apply: The application process is managed through AISI’s online portal. The first step is the eligibility Statement and Expression of Interest (EOI)* Submission.
Deadline: Rolling; will close when all funding has been allocated
