Round table introduced and moderated by Corentin Fivet, in the context of the exhibition Matière Ultime, with:
Madlen Kobi, Social Anthropology Unit, University of Fribourg, author of the research "Urban Bricolage. Mining, Designing and Constructing with Reused Building Materials".
Guillaume de Morsier, Kunik de Morsier architects
Célia Kupfer, EPFL Architect, Doctoral assistant, Structural Xploration Lab
Mélodie Rey, EPFL engineer, Real Estate Development at Brick AG
The topic of reuse has recently emerged in architecture schools, and has gained a lot of momentum in a short period of time. Course and research programs continue to adapt to this new paradigm.
In order to understand how to teach and develop research on reuse, it is important to learn about pioneering experiences in the profession, as well as student initiatives that are looking for new and innovative building processes.
The discussion will address issues such as continuing education, the need to move away from the DIY aesthetic to see reuse develop on a larger scale, the development of new standards adapted to reuse, etc.
All lectures are also broadcast live on Zoom.
