Event details

Date 27.05.2020
Category Call for proposal
Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing the Lung Cancer Research Program (LCRP) Awards. The LCRP Concept Award supports the exploration of a highly innovative new concept or untested theory that addresses an important problem relevant to lung cancer. The Concept Award is not intended to support an incremental progression of an already established research project but, instead, allows Principal Investigators (PIs) the opportunity to pursue serendipitous observations. This award mechanism supports high-risk studies that have the potential to reveal entirely new avenues for investigation. Applications must describe how the new idea will enhance the existing knowledge of lung cancer or develop an innovative and novel course of investigation.

In addition, all applications for LCRP funding must specifically address at least one of the Areas of Emphasis as directed by Congress and have direct relevance to military health. The FY20 LCRP Topic Areas are listed at the end of this announcement.

Funding:        max. $100’000

Duration:      1 year

Eligibility: Applicants from international organizations or institutions are eligible to apply, and there are no citizenship restrictions. All investigators at or above the level of postdoctoral fellow (or equivalent) are eligible.

How to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact information, a letter of intent, and a list of collaborators and key personnel as suggested on the platform. Full applications (by invitation) will be made via a Grants.gov workspace. Full application packages can be downloaded from Grants.gov at any time.
