Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing the Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP) Awards. The OCRP Ovarian Cancer Academy – Early-Career Investigator Award
This award mechanism enables the Early Career Investigator (ECI) to pursue an ovarian cancer project (basic /translational /clinical research /clinical trial) under the guidance of a Designated Mentor. The ECI is expected to participate in monthly webinars and annual workshops and to communicate and collaborate with other members of the academy as well as with the advocacy community.
Note: The Designated Mentor is not required to be at the same institution as the ECI. Preliminary data to support the feasibility of the research hypotheses and research approaches are required; (but not necessarily derived from the ovarian cancer research field).
Funding: max. $725’000
Duration: 4 years
How to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain: contact information, a preproposal narrative, and a list of collaborators and key personnel as suggested on the platform. - Eligibility: All organizations, including foreign organizations, foreign public entities, and international organizations, are eligible to apply.
- Early-Career Investigator
- May be a research- or physician-scientist.
- May be in a non-tenure track or tenure track position.
- Must not have a concurrent career development-like award at the time of this award.
- Must have an institutional commitment of approximately 50% protected time for ovarian cancer research and Academy activities including participation in monthly webinars.
- Must commit no less than 25% effort to this award for the first 2 years.
- Individuals in a doctoral research position (Ph.D.) or clinical fellowship (M.D.), or equivalent at the time of full application submission are not eligible.
