Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing the Hearing Restoration Research Program (HRRP) for 2018. The intent of the HRRP Focused Research Award is to support applied research that will advance the diagnosis and treatment of auditory dysfunction where hearing sensitivity may be within normal limits but the individual’s capacity to listen and understand speech is substantially impaired. Successful proposals will include the development and/or validation of techniques and methods to assess and/or treat auditory dysfunction as related to synaptopathy, hidden hearing loss, and central auditory processing disorders.
Funding: Maximum USD $ 1’000’000
Duration: 3 years
Eligibility: Applicants from international organizations or institutions are eligible to apply, and there are no citizenship restrictions. Independent investigators at all academic levels are eligible to submit applications.
