[U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE - Lung Cancer Research Program Idea Development Award | Research Funding]
Event details
Date | 26.06.2018 |
Category | Call for proposal |
Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing the Lunch Cancer Research Program (LCRP) for 2018. The Idea Development Award promotes new ideas that are still in the early stages of development and have the potential to yield impactful data and new avenues of investigation. This award supports conceptually innovative, high-risk/high-reward research that could lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate progress toward eradicating deaths and suffering from lung cancer. Applications should include a well- formulated, testable hypothesis based on strong scientific rationale. Submissions from and partnerships with investigators at Department of Defense (DoD) military treatment facilities and laboratories, and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers and research laboratories are strongly encouraged.
Preliminary data to support the feasibility of the research hypotheses and research approaches are required; however, these data do not necessarily need to be derived from studies of lung cancer.
The LCRP seeks to support research that is relevant to the healthcare needs of military Service members, Veterans, and their families. Military relevance will be considered in determining relevance to the mission of the FY18 LCRP during programmatic review.
Funding: Maximum USD $ 350’000
Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Applicants from international organizations or institutions are eligible to apply, and there are no citizenship restrictions. Investigators at the level of Assistant Professor or above are eligible to submit applications.
How to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact information, a list of collaborators and key personnel, a proposal narrative, and supporting documents as suggested on the platform. Full applications (by invitation) will be made via a Grants.gov workspace. Full application packages can be downloaded from Grants.gov at any time.
Pre-Application Deadline: 26 June 2018, 5:00 p.m. EST (23:00 CET)
