Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing the Multiple Sclerosis Research Program (MSRP) for 2018. The Exploration – Hypothesis Development Award supports the initial exploration of innovative, high-risk, high-gain, and potentially groundbreaking concepts in the MS research field. The studies supported by this award mechanism are expected to lay the groundwork for future avenues of scientific investigation. The proposed research project should include a well-formulated, testable hypothesis based on strong scientific rationale and study design. The proposed research project should be innovative. Innovative research may examine a novel paradigm, challenge current paradigms, look at existing problems from novel perspectives, or exhibit other highly creative qualities.
All applications submitted to this program must address at least one of the following Focus Areas:
Funding: Maximum USD $ 150’000
Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Applicants from international organizations or institutions are eligible to apply, and there are no citizenship restrictions. Investigators at the level of Assistant Professor or above are eligible to submit applications.

They should contain contact information, a list of collaborators and key personnel, a proposal narrative, and supporting documents as suggested on the platform.
